Amy Witherite of Eberstein Witherite Sponsors Bowl-A-Thon for Woman Called Moses

Eberstein Witherite is pleased to again sponsor the K104 DeDe in the Morning Annual Bowl-A-Thon, benefitting Women Called Moses. Women Called Moses supports the southern Dallas community by providing services and support for domestic violence victims.
The Annual Bowl-A-Thon is a fun-filled evening, with many of the K104 on air personalities leading teams in a friendly competition.

“We are delighted to again partner with K104 and DeDe for this event,” says Amy Witherite, founding partner of Eberstein Witherite. DeDe’s Annual Charity Bowl-A-Thon will be held on May 10th at Alley Cats in Arlington. To participate in this event, make a donation, and you can join one of the station’s teams – or sign up to play on Amy’s team – for a fun filled evening of bowling.

Women Called Moses focuses on providing services to end the cycle of domestic violence in the Southern Dallas County area. From helping women and children escape abusive situations, to offering legal advocacy and counseling, Women Called Moses focuses on the entire spectrum of services to support victims of domestic abuse.

“It’s a tough situation for these families,” says Witherite. “Losing a car can be terrible for someone; but walking away from a roof over your head for you and your children is scary. It could also save your life. That’s why we sponsor DeDe’s Annual Charity Bowl-A-Thon. Women need to know they have help and support to help them escape domestic abuse,” Witherite continued.

DeDe is known as the Queen of Radio on KKDA (K104), and hosts one of the most popular morning drive time radio shows in DFW. She is regularly honored by the broadcast industry for her work and her community involvement. Witherite is well known in the DFW community, not only as a leading personal injury trial lawyer but also for her continued support of community outreach programs and charitable contributions to the causes that affect the communities her firm serves. “One in four women will be a victim of domestic abuse,” said Witherite. “Our Firm’s motto is ‘We Keep Life Running’ and we apply this belief to our clients, our team members and our community.”

DALLAS [March 01, 2018]- The Eberstein Witherite law firm announced today that it again is the title sponsor for Project 16’s annual Local Love Awards, a fundraiser to help underprivileged and at-risk youths and prepare them for a better and more successful future.

The fundraiser, March 17 at the Omni Dallas Hotel, honors top influencers among minority businesses, including designers, restaurateurs, fitness coaches, lifestyle and digital bloggers, hair stylists, photographers and more. All proceeds go to the non-profit charity, Project 16.

“We are thrilled to support Project 16 for the second straight year,” said Amy Witherite, founding partner of the firm. “Our core principle is ‘We Keep Life Running.’ Project 16 exemplifies that effort, empowering the community and motivating our youth. Its dedication in giving children exposure to real world experiences is incredible and truly inspirational.”

Lady Jade, co-host on the KKDA-FM (104.5) program “DeDe in the Morning,” created Project 16 to give local youths a hands-on curriculum that teaches practical and necessary life skills, especially as they enter the workforce.

“Knowledge and preparation increases confidence, motivation and opportunities to become a more prepared and outstanding citizen after high school”, says Lady Jade. The organization provides enriched experiences through exposure and participation, helping them thrive in different social and cultural environments.

“I am one of those people who truly believes in my soul that we can make the world a better place one child at a time. I am not going to sit around and wait for someone else to do it,” she

said. “God has blessed me, so I want to bless them and give our youth a fair shot at a bright, successful future.”

Eberstein Witherite, which specializes in personal injury and motor vehicle accidents, has been involved for years in community outreach programs.

In June 2017, it presented 10 graduates at Paul Laurence Dunbar High School in Fort Worth with $1,000 and $2,000 checks as a part of the firm’s Making a Difference renewable scholarship program, which started in 2015. The scholarships are for students going to community colleges, trade schools and universities. That includes those pursuing paralegal training, information technology, ultrasound techs and medical records personnel.

Also last year, Eberstein Witherite partnered with “K104” to help benefit Women Called Moses, a non-profit that assists survivors of domestic violence through education and advocacy services. Women Called Moses was established to help women find a safe haven while trying to rebuild their lives.

The organization provides education and support for women and children, including emergency housing, counseling programs, life skills, crisis counseling, transitional support, long-term support and court advocacy.

“We are committed to giving back to our community,” Witherite said. “It’s the same focus that drives our legal practice. Our goal is to level the legal playing field and make legal services available to those with little or no legal representation in time of personal injury and crisis, regardless of their socioeconomic class, education or status in life.”

The Local Love Awards gala is being hosted by “K104” personalities Dede McGuire and Michael Shawn.

Award presenters include boxing welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr., Hall of Famer and Super Bowl champion Deion Sanders, Grammy nominated music producer J. White Did It and social media superstars Ice Mike (@icemikeloveasia, with more 1.1 million Instagram followers) and his daughter, Asia (@asialovesdaddy, with more than 200,000 followers).
