Attorney JoDee Neil

Attorney JoDee Neil

JoDee Neil is a fierce advocate who has built her career helping people in difficult situations. She is an accomplished litigator, having first-chaired over 100 jury trials with high-quality outcomes. She has served in both the public and private sector and has represented the most vulnerable among us through compassion and legal advocacy.

JoDee is a Dallas native and a second-generation SMU Law alumni. She spent her formative years working summers and holiday breaks in her dad’s criminal/family law practice. She witnessed how stressful the legal system can be and decided as a young child that she would become a trial lawyer. After graduating law school in 2004, JoDee began her career at the Collin County District Attorney’s Office, where she served from 2005-2011. JoDee spent the bulk of this time in the Crimes Against Children Division, where she represented the State of Texas on behalf of child victims of sexual and physical abuse.

In 2011, JoDee moved to Singapore to marry her fiancé who was working there at the time. They travelled to places such as the jungles of Borneo, the tea plantations in Sri Lanka and even North Korea. In 2012, JoDee took on a role as the legal advisor for an international non-profit in Indonesia. Through this work, JoDee helped the organization launch protocols for interviewing child witnesses, preserving evidence and establishing a multi-disciplinary team. The experience of working and living overseas gave JoDee a unique perspective on the world. She appreciates people from different cultures and sees beauty in diversity. Clients know that they can be themselves around JoDee—and that she will fight for them equally.

JoDee has two daughters, born in 2015 and 2016. In September 2016, JoDee and her family moved back to Dallas to build a life with family and friends. JoDee resumed law practice at a plaintiff’s commercial firm shortly thereafter and began working at the personal injury law firm, Eberstein Witherite in September 2017. JoDee’s experience as a prosecutor, an expat and a child advocate has prepared her well for plaintiff’s personal injury litigation. JoDee despises bullying, whether it be by criminals or by insurance companies. She believes it’s her life’s mission to leave this world a better place through her deeds and she applies that passion to her cases and clients.
