Shelly is a native Texan and graduate of Duncanville High School in Dallas County where she helped lead the girl’s basketball team to two state championships and set the state record for most consecutive wins. Excelling in academics as well as sports, she earned her undergraduate degree with honors from the University of North Texas. After graduating from Texas Tech School of Law, Shelly returned to Dallas to practice law. For the first six years of her career, she defended physicians and hospitals against medical malpractice claims. During that time, she gained valuable insight into the tactics that insurance companies use to avoid paying claims. She now uses this knowledge to help Texans injured due to the negligence of others. Since joining Eberstein & Witherite, LLP, in 2004, Shelly’s extensive trial experience, dedication, and advocacy on behalf of victims and families has earned her the recognition of her peers in the legal profession. Recently, Texas Monthly magazine named Shelly as a prestigious Rising Star, an honor recognizing the best attorneys who are either 40 or under or who have been practicing 10 or fewer years.
Admitted to practice law in Texas since 1998, Shelly is licensed to practice in all state and federal courts in Texas. She is also an active member of several Dallas-area, statewide, and national trial associations, as well as the Dallas and Collin County Young Lawyer organizations. A wife and proud mother of two young boys, Shelly’s dedication to the Dallas-area community extends to her active church and PTA board service.
