Amy was raised in Ft. Worth, Texas and distinguished herself as a scholarship athlete in swimming for a top 10 women’s swimming program. She then attended Texas Tech School of Law. Following law school graduation in 1993, Amy began working for one of the largest and oldest law firms in Texas. After two years, she moved her practice to an insurance defense law firm where she learned the nuances and tactics insurance companies use to defend healthcare providers. Armed with this “insider’s” knowledge, Amy began representing victims injured in hospitals, nursing homes, and by physicians. She and Brian A. Eberstein founded Eberstein & Witherite, LLP, in 2001, where she devotes 100% of her practice to protecting the rights of injured Texans and wronged Texas businesses.
Board certified in personal injury trial law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, Amy has also been chosen by her peers in every year from 2003 through 2007 as a Texas Super Lawyer by Texas Monthly magazine. In addition to her legal practice, Amy is a frequent speaker at legal seminars in the fields of medical malpractice and nursing home litigation. She is active in local, statewide, and national trial associations and is a fellowship member and on the Board of Directors of Texas Trial Lawyers Association, the Dallas Trial Lawyers Association, and the Past Chair of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association Board of Advocates. Amy was also named one of the 50 Best Women Lawyers in Texas by Texas Super Lawyers.
